Exploring Global Citizenship:
Understanding Our Responsibilities and Opportunities in a Changing World

このゼミでは、どのようなことを、どのように学べるか

Are you interested in learning about our responsibilities towards addressing global challenges and opportunities to create positive change in the world? In this seminar, we will look at the historical and cultural roots of global citizenship, the political and economic systems that impact global issues, the importance of empathy and cultural understanding in promoting global citizenship, and the role of education in fostering global citizenship.

Students will learn about global issues related to sustainable development goals through readings, videos, discussions, and presentations. We will also examine case studies of global challenges that highlight the ways in which individuals and communities can take action to address these challenges. In the second year, students will pick a topic of interest related to sustainable development goals and do a research project about it.

このゼミで学んだことは将来どのように役立てることができるか

While studying about global citizenship, students will develop a range of skills that are essential for success in their academic, personal, and professional lives.

Relating to academic skills, students will learn the foundations of good research by gathering, evaluating, and synthesizing information from various sources to support their arguments and ideas. They will also develop their communication skills through assignments such as essays, presentations, and discussions. On a personal level, students will learn the importance of effective cross-cultural communication and empathy.
